What is the research?
The research aims to explore the experiences of survivors of sexual violence in relation to help-seeking and disclosure. In particular, we are interested in why survivors may (or may not) disclose or seek help from healthcare (Counsellor, GP, Nurse,Therapist, Sexual Health clinic etc) in Scotland.

What will participating in the research involve?
Participating in the research will involve a one to one discussion with Carlene, a female researcher. The discussion will last roughly 60 minutes and can take place in person at Glasgow Caledonian University or online at a time convenient for you. After the discussion, a small thank you gift will be provided to thank you for your contribution.
Who should participate?
As part of the study, we are looking for a wide range of women from different backgrounds that meet the following criteria:
- Is over the age of 18 years
- Lives in Scotland
- Experienced rape and/or sexual assault as an adult (over the age of 18) between 2-10 years previously
- Disclosed or sought help (or considered disclosure or help) from a healthcare professional (such as a nurse, healthcare assistant, therapist, counsellor, at a sexual health clinic)
- Not currently in a relationship with the perpetrator.
